Stillwaters Farm

Welcome to Stillwaters Farm!

Thanks so much for takin’ time to stop by for a visit.
We appreciate good company.

Take a look around.  Feel at home.
Take your shoes off and relax while you browse our pages
and get a real feel for what we’re all about!

As a growing agritourism enterprise, Stillwaters Farm is first and foremost an exhibition farm where animals of many different varieties reside for the primary purpose of our (and their) enjoyment!  Because these gentle creatures are approachable even by the youngest of us, they are wonderful teaching tools for our visitors.  It is unfortunate that a growing number of people in our country have never been up close and personal with a donkey or a cow or a sheep...especially one as friendly and BIG as Newman!  We, therefore, take great pleasure in introducing our guests to our livestock.  We raise our donkeys and Great Pyrenees livestock guard dogs both for another purpose—to provide trained predator guards for flocks and herds of livestock.  They are bred, raised, and trained at our farm, and when sold, they perform their jobs above any expectation their new families may have.  Secondly, we are attempting to marry a “farm stay” at the Cottage with the exhibition nature of the farm.  We invite our guests to take a tour, get to know our residents, and jump right in to our daily activities, if they are so inclined.  Thirdly, we are a nature preserve.  You will not find any hunting on our premises—unless it’s with a camera.  As a result, we have plentiful deer, turkey, birds of all kinds, an occasional red fox, and coyote.  Our guests are encouraged to bring their cameras along for photo opportunities that happen each and every day.  Finally, we are a working hay farm.  Stillwaters, in its first year, produced almost a thousand bales of hay—despite a good portion of the year being spent clearing the hayfields of saplings and brush.  Ours is a mixed grass hay—with a good percentage of Bermuda along with fescue and clover.

Down on the Farm, we’ll do our best to keep you updated on the latest happenings .  Things  will change from time to time, like our cast and crew, so check back to see what...and WHO...is new.  We will also be continually updating our products and services areas to keep you current on what we offer here at the farm.  A newsletter with articles that touch on many different subjects can be found in the Farm Chronicles.

As for The Cottage, we will do our best to provide current photos of improvements and embellishments, as well as utilize the calendar for reservations and event purposes.

Butterflies, Bees, and Birds love to stop by the perennial garden at The Cottage for a visit and a sip of nectar.
